Opportunity to Expand Reading Apprenticeship on your Campus
Is Reading Apprenticeship starting to take off on your campus? Would you like to expand your community of practice beyond the STEM disciplines? Because your campus is part of our Reading Apprenticeship Community College STEM Network, your college is eligible for matching scholarships for non-STEM faculty to participate in WestEd's 3-day Reading Apprenticeship Seminar, June 15-17 in Oakland, CA. If your college can cover the cost of one participant's registration fee, the Helmsley Grant will cover registration for the second participant. (As you know, RACCSN faculty can already sign up the 3 day STEM seminar for free, so this opportunity is for non-STEM faculty at the cross-discipline seminar). The two members of each team can be from different departments or the same department. This program is meant to help RACCSN colleges build a rich community of practice across the disciplines to best support the efforts of the STEM faculty who are already engaged in Reading Apprenticeship professional development. Contact Nika Hogan by May 8 if you are interested ([email protected]).
